On the record, John McCain’s daughter Meghan conveys total confidence in Gov. Sarah Palin. But her word choice suggests otherwise. Meghan recently posted a picture of the Xcel Center crowd on her blog. The caption read, “Anxiously awaiting Governor Palin.”

Let’s get this straight. Eager implies desire. Anxious may imply desire but always implies anxiety or worry.

Based on Meghan’s caption, we don’t know for sure that the Republican delegates were looking forward to Palin’s speech, but we do know they were worried about how it would go.
